The Budapest Museum of Fine Arts organizes, for the first time in the world, a comprehensive international exhibition of the amulets, that will host pieces from the leading magical gem collections of the world (e.g.The British Museum, London; Le Cabinet des Médailles, Paris, The Kelsey Museum, Ann Arbor, Michigan).

The magic gems constitute a distinct category in the ancient glyptic, they reveal a large syncretism along centuries.

Chosen in 1999 by the "Maecenas World Patrimony Foundation" for entirely restoring the Celestial sphere of Paul Manship at the Cour d'Honneur of the Palais des Nations, the European headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva.
A detailed safeguard report was product including; the artist's instructions - a new conception for the "very slow rotation" of the sphere - bronze corrosion and iron substructures - the regilding and the replacement of lost elements - engineer works & pool reconstruction.

Gönzc, the Education and Culture Minister B. Magyar, Monsieur l'Ambassadeur C. Caratsch, SECO and representative of Geneva donors, The President of the Hellas et Roma association Monsieur O. Reverdin and fifteen members).
